The Performance Automatic modified 4R70W Transmission is equipped with heavy duty clutches and servo, high performance bands and a new steel pan, in addition to the street/strip valve body. With the tweaks made by Performance Automatic, your Mustang GT will have crisp shifts, improved thrust capacities and endure a longer life.

Application. The Performance Automatic 4R70W Automatic Transmission is specifically designed for use in the 1997 to 2004 GT Mustangs that came with the 4R70W transmission.

Please Note. In 1997, Ford changed their transmission from AODE to the 4R70W. To ensure which transmission came in your GT, you will need to check your tail shaft housing. If you have a "W" cast into the housing, you have the 4R70W transmission. If you do not, you have the AODE transmission.

Note. This Transmission does not include a torque converter.
