How to install a SHR Chrome Mirror Control Knob on your 2005-2009 Mustang

Thank you for your purchase of SilverHorse Racing products. Please read all directions before beginning the installation. A factory shop manual should be available for reference during installation. If, after reading these and any accompanying directions, you feel that you may not be able to complete the installation safely and properly, please seek out professional installation by certified technicians. Please read and understand our product purchase agreement (included) prior to starting installation. Vehicle should be off with key removed from ignition and in park with parking brake set prior to beginning installation. Expected installation time is 5 minutes.

1. Turn key to the off position and remove from ignition, making sure vehicle is in park / neutral and the parking brake is set on a flat, level surface. Set mirror control to neutral (center) position.
2. Slide clip removal tool behind plastic mirror control knob, and pry to pop off. Alternatively, you may be able to grab the existing knob firmly and pull, removing the factory knob. This may crack the knob, but it will not be re-used and will leave the switch shaft intact.
3. Install new mirror control with center dot to top (12 o’clock) position. Slot cut in back will align with keys on switch shaft. Push on firmly, knob will stay on with friction to switch shaft – no audible “click” will be felt or heard during installation.
4. Test for proper operation. CCW rotation will enable the driver’s side mirror, while CW rotation will enable the passenger side mirror. Installation is complete!
