Installation
1. Set the parking brake and raise the hood.
2. Disconnect the ground from the battery. (mine was 8mm, yours may differ)
3. Locate mass air flow sensor and remove the electrical connector from it by pushing down on the clip and pulling back.
4. Remove the 8mm bolt on the fender wall holding the air filter box.
5. Remove the vacuum line from the valve cover by grabbing at the base and gently pulling up.
6. Use a flathead screwdriver to loosen the band clamp from the throttle body.
7. Pull the intake straight back off the throttle body.
8. Lift the complete air intake system up out of the car, and set aside. (Note there are 2 rubber inserts under the air filter box)
9. Locate the cover over the coil packs and remove the two 10mm bolts.
10. Remove the cover exposing 4 coil packs.
11. Remove the wire connector from the coil pack, by pushing the clip down and pulling back.
12. Firmly pull upwards on the old coil pack and remove. (mine fought me quite a bit and didn’t want to release from the spark plug )
13. Remove the new Accel super coil from its package. Apply dielectric grease to the boot that makes contact with the spark plug, and also the wire connector. This helps ensure no moister or corrosion.
14. Connect the wire to the coil pack and seat the coil pack onto the spark plug.
15. Repeat steps 11 to 14 for the rest on this side.
16. Place the cover back over the coil packs and tighten the two 10mm bolts.
17. Move to the other side and remove the two 10mm bolts.
18. Repeat steps 11 to 14 for all coils on this side.
19. Place the cover back over the coil packs and tighten the two 10mm bolts.
20. Install the air intake, reconnect mass airflow sensor, and the 8mm bolt.
