Before:

Stock Intake Removal:

1. First things first, remove the battery box cover (3 plastic pins are twist and pull) and disconnect the negative battery terminal (the black one).

2. Disconnect both breather lines from the intake tube (grey clips, one is a pull back and the other is a push in and pull). Loosen both hose clamps and remove the factory intake tube.

a. If you are familiar with previous model intakes, note the absence of the mass airflow sensor. After searching high and low, I found that Ford went with a speed density system instead of the mass airflow sensor route - JUST A SIDE NOTE IF INTERESTED

3. Using the 10mm socket wrench, remove the factory air box mounting bolt located in the inner fender. Then life the entire factory air box up and out of the engine bay. Same the 10mm bolt for use later on.

a. The rubber grommet will also be reused, make sure to save that!

4. Make sure the speed clip remains in the inner fender. This is used later on. Also be sure to replace the factory rubber grommet if it by chance came out with the stock air box.

Cold Air Intake Installation:

5. Insert the Filter Adapter inside the Cold Air Box and line up the 3 screw holes. Place and tighten the 3 .-20 button head screws and .” flat washers with a 5/32 allen key (not included).

6. Place the Cold Air Box into the engine bay, making sure to line up the bolt opening, the pin (into the rubber grommet), and air inlet into its factory opening. Insert 10mm bolt and tighten.

7. Slide the hump hose over the filter adapter. Place #68 clamps

a. For easier install, loop the #68 clamp around the hump hose after it is in place (especially helpful in step 8 with install of reducing hump hose)

8. Slide the reducing hump hose over the throttle body. Place #48 clamp and #64 clamp

9. Install both rubber grommets into the corresponding intake tube openings, followed by the aluminum fitting (pictured below in step 10)

10. Insert intake tube into hump hose and reducing hump hose and tighten all four clamps

a. Note: the intake tube may pull a little on both hump hoses, making it look uneven. As long as you make sure everything lines up and there are no openings you will be fine

11. Reconnect both breather hoses to their fittings and make sure you hear them click in

12. Install the Airaid Air Filter onto the Filter Adapter inside the air box and tighten clamp

a. Make sure the filter is all the way on, it’s a tight fit

13. Remove the protective film from the metal window and the plastic lid before installation. Place the plastic lid first, then the metal window and secure them with the remaining 6 button head screws and washers.

And with that you’re installation is now complete! Way to go! Just go over all the fasteners and make sure that everything is tight. Check your hood clearance (something to get in a good habit of doing). Once you’re all done reconnect the battery and replace the battery cover.
