[1] Please check the part-number(s) for your application against the part-number(s) listed on the instruction sheet.
[2] Clean and inspect all hardware prior to installation. Look for obvious defects or shipping damages, plus proper fit, length and dimension.
[3] Using a thread cleaning tap, clean out all the threads in the cylinder head prior to installation. If your cylinder heads are not set up for screw in rocker arm studs have a professional machine shop machine your heads for screw in studs.
[4] Using ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener Assembly Lubricant, lubricate the coarse end of the rocker arm stud that screws into the cylinder head. Note: If the studs protrude into the intake port or water jacket lubricate the studs with ARP Thread Sealer.
[5] Install the push rod guide plates (if applicable).
[6] Screw the rocker arm studs into the cylinder head and tighten them hand tight. Make sure the bottom side of the hex is seated down against the cylinder head or guide plate (where applicable).
[7] Tighten the rocker arm studs to the following specifications:
PRELOAD (TORQUE) RECOMMENDATIONS
Aluminum Cylinder Heads 45 ft-lbs. Cast Iron Cylinder Heads 55 ft-lbs.
