Universal Mustang Car Covers vs Custom Fit Covers

The first thing you need to decide on is whether or not you want a form fitted car cover for you Mustang. The slack in universal covers can be a cause for concern depending on the material. If it’s a cheap fabric, wind gusts can slap the cover against your paint potentially causing more harm than good. If you elect for a universal cover to save a few bucks, be sure it’s a multi-layered cover. The main draw to custom fit covers, is they have pockets for the mirrors and the antenna. Once cinched tight with the undercarriage straps, custom fit covers are without a doubt the best Mustang car covers. After a few nasty days outside, you can throw your cover into the washer, but you don’t want to use standard laundry detergent. Use a cleaner without an agitator and be sure to rinse the cover thoroughly before using it again.

Other Means of Protecting Your Mustang

Sometimes a full cover isn’t warranted, or you might be on your way to a show with your pony. A front car bra is perfect for these situations. Some versions are a clear film applied like cellophane to your bumper and part of your hood. Others are a thin fabric that stretches across the front. The material is thin enough to allow airflow through the grille, but thick enough to stave off bugs and the like so you arrive at your show blemish free. While sitting out in the sun, another useful item will be a sunshade. Judgers will not only be able to see your pristine interior better, but it will also prevent damaging UV rays from taking the age out of your dash.
