The 893 Series Bulbs are a single filament bulb sealed in a halogen gas filled glass tube. They are found stock in 1994-2004 Mustang GT fog lights, 1994-2001 Cobra fog lights, and the 2003 Mach 1 fog lights.
One caution regarding the Mach 1: The H10/9145 or 899 has the same connector, but features a 90 degree angle instead of straight connection. Both bulbs came in the Mach 1, but the 899 is more common.

D3S HID Bulbs
The D3S is the bulb the 2013-2014 Mustangs as well as the S550 (2015) Mustangs use for their headlights. The HID part stands for high-intensity discharge. HIDs use as a kind of welding arc and a gas tube. These bulbs take a minute or two to heat up fully for maximum light output. They are more focused than halogens and produce more light.
Unfortunately, the fog lights for the S550 are Ford specific assemblies (same with the GT500s). You'll have to convert the stock housings and use an H3 bulb instead.
NOTE: Some of the 2007-2012 Mustangs came with HIDs from the factory (it was an option, not standard). Those Mustangs also use the D3S bulb for their headlights.

HID Headlight Colors
Odds are you've seen other vehicles, Mustangs included, with different color headlights than your own. Perhaps a bluer light or even purple. What this means is the vehicle in question has a hotter "burning" HID bulb. The higher the temperature of the HID, the closer it gets to the purple spectrum. For reference, below are the temperature rating of HIDs and what color they show:
3,000 Kelvin: Yellow
5,000 - 6,000 Kelvin: White
8,000 - 10,000 Kelvin: Blue-white
12,000 Kelvin: Purple
30,000 Kelvin: Pink
CAUTION: Certain colors/headlight configurators are illegal in some states. Be sure to check your local laws before changing your headlight color.

Mustang Tail Light & Reverse Bulbs
From 1979-1987, 1157 bulbs are in the tail lights.
Mustang tail lights from 1988-2012 use 3157A (amber) bulbs. Note: The Foxbody, SN95, and New Edge models (1979-2004) need a total of six bulbs to fully replace the tail lights.
The reverse lights in the 1988-2004 Mustangs are a clear, 3156 bulb. The S550 also uses the 3156 for their reverse lights, but are also found with 3157s.
