How to Install a Cervini's Quarter Window Scoops - Unpainted on your 2010-2013 Mustang

2010 MUSTANG QUARTER WINDOW SCOOPS

Notice: Pre fit before painting! Install new, unpainted parts according to these instructions! Then remove parts, paint them and re-install!

Painted or Altered Parts are Non-Refundable! After the parts have been primed and painted install the double sided tape! The surface where the 3M double sided tape is contacting must be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and be a minimum of 75 degrees F constant through out the drying process! Allow the 2-sided tape to dry 24 hours before driving!

STEP 1: Apply 3/4" masking tape along the perimeter of the quarter windows, 5/8" from the edge of the window as shown in fig.A. Then, center the scoop inside of the tape. Make sure that the scoop covers the window and follows the body lines of the car. (Adjust the position of the scoop if needed.) Repeat on the opposite side of the car.

STEP 2: Included in the hardware packet is a roll of 3M double sided tape. After the scoops have been painted, install the double sided tape along the guidelines an 1/8" away from the outer edge of the part as shown in fig.B. (Do not cover the water drain hole with the double sided tape.) Mask off the red backing with 2" masking tape, so that the center inside portion of the scoop is exposed. Scuff the inside surface with a gray scuff pad and paint it with flat black paint. (This portion of the scoop can be seen through the glass.) Repeat on the opposite scoop.

STEP 3: Cut out the supplied templates. Lay them on the screen as shown in fig.C. Mark the out line of the templates on the screen and cut them out. Center the screens in the scoop openings and install the short phillips screws through the screen into the pre drilled holes in the scoops.

STEP 4: Peel the red backing from the tape. Place your finger tips under the rear of the scoop and align the front of the scoop with your tape guidelines. (Do not let the double sided tape touch the car until the scoop is properly aligned.) Press firmly on the front of the scoop adhering the double sided tape to the car. Work your way to the rear of the scoop applying pressure. Remove your finger tips last. Repeat on the opposite side of the car.
