How to Install Axial Chrome Stock Replacement Headlights (99-04 All) on your Ford Mustang

Removal Procedure:

1. Remove headlight retainer bars by pulling up on them.

2. Pull the entire headlight slightly out of the body so that you can proceeded to
disconnect the bulb connectors.

3. Disconnect the side yellow light connector.

4. Disconnect front main headlight bulb connector.

5. Twist 90 degrees and pull out side yellow light connector and set bulb aside.

6. Twist and remove the grey plastic bulb retainer and then remove the headlight bulb
and set both aside.

7. Discard or set aside old headlight.

Pre-Preparation Step (Recommended by Stephanie Wood of AmericanMuscle)

1. Purchase waterproof silicon sealer to seal and prevent oxidation.

2. Fill in the space between the front of the new headlight and back of the new
headlight with silicone sealant along the entire interface perimeter.

Installation Procedure:

1. Remove the white bulb hole sealing tab from the main headlight bulb hole.

2. Twist off and remove black plastic bulb retainer.

3. Remove the white bulb hole sealing tab from the side yellow light bulb hole.

4. Insert the original bulb (or a new bulb) alighted with the internal tabs and place the black plastic bulb retainer on top of the bulb and twist it in to seal the bulb.

5. Insert the side yellow light connector into the hole and rotate 90 degrees.

6. Reconnect the front headlight connector to the headlight bulb in the new headlight.

7. Reconnect the side yellow light connector to the yellow side bulb connector.

8. Push the headlight all the way into the car body and insert the headlight retainer bars to hold the headlight in place.

9. Repeat the removal procedure, Pre-preparation, and installation procedure for
the other headlight

10. Enjoy your new headlights.
