9. Be sure to shake the aerosol can for 1 full minute prior to painting.
Always test the aerosol can on a test surface or piece of cardboard before starting your paint project. This wi ll show if the product is fully mixed.
10. Smooth, even application is key. Hold the can 8-10 inches from the surface and spray in an even sweeping motion. Overlap your spray pattern.
11. Always start your paint project with light coats. The first coat is called your "tack coat" and will help each additional coat bond to the surface. Follow up your tack coat with 2-3 medium coats. Your last 1-2 coats should be heavy but NOT too heavy so the paint runs or sags. Take your time.

Dupli-Color® Paints can be wet sanded and buffed to a smooth glossy finish. After all paint steps are complete let paint dry for 24-48 hours depending on products used. Test an inconspicuous area to determine if paint has completely dried. Lightly wet sand any imperfections or orange peel with 1500-2000 grit sandpaper, being careful not to cut through the dear coat and into the color coat. Note: If clear coat is sanded through to the color coat, repeat color and clear coat applications. Once wet sanding is complete the surface will appear dull. Wash surface with dean water and let dry. Buff with a random orbital or high speed buffer using a wool buffing pad and fine grit buffing compound. Follow up with a foam pad with a finishing compound. Note: High speed buffers are more aggressive and can damage the paint if used incorrectly. Use at low speed. Apply a quality automotive wax after 1 week.
