Please Note: This guide replaced an identical aluminum driveshaft for a new one. Therefore, the initial images will appear as if they are new. If you are replacing your stock driveshaft, you will notice some wear and discoloration.
Installation Instructions:
1. Chock front wheels. Make sure your parking break is on or your Mustang is in “Park.”
2. Jack up rear of car by the rear differential, high enough for you to work comfortably underneath.
3. Support car with (2) jack stands placed under each side axle.
4. Use a 12mm wrench to remove the (4) bolts from the rear u-joint and rear differential.
5. After removing all (4) bolts, lower the back of the driveshaft from the rear differential.
6. Now slide the driveshaft out of the back of the transmission. It should slide out without much resistance.
NOTE: A small amount of transmission fluid might leak out if the rear of car is not high enough.
7. Now slide your new driveshaft into the back of the transmission.
NOTE: Make sure the driveshaft yolk is clean before installing.
8. Align the (4) bolt holes on the rear U-joint of the driveshaft to the bolt holes on the Rear Differential. If reusing stock bolts, apply some threadlocker before installing. Replace the bolts and tighten them down very snug.
9. Replace jack under the rear differential and jack up car enough to remove jack stands.
10. Lower the car slowly and then remove the front wheel chocks.
