Part Number: M-20201-M

Notes:

- This guide assumes a non PP trim car
- PP trim installation involves only removing the 4 strut tower nuts and the polished strut tower brace then placing the new black Ford Racing strut tower brace and 4 new strut tower nuts (41 ft/lb)

Before Picture (non Performance Pack trim):

Instructions:

1) Remove the black plastic battery cover - there are 3 plastic clips that get unscrewed then popped out

2) Remove the positive battery cable
- 10mm socket (or wrench)
- pop the brown cable tie holder up and off the strut tower bolt (see image for step 3 below)

3) Remove passenger strut tower brace nuts - 15mm deep socket

- set these nuts aside as they are no longer needed

4) Remove the 6 plastic push down clips holding down the windshield cowl panel grill

5) Remove the 4 black bolts holding down

the plastic passenger strut tower brace - 1/2" ratchet wrench

- 2 of the bolts are under the windshield panel cowl grill, they’re easily accessible if you pull up on the cowl grill (you can place something soft between the layers to make removing the bolts easier)

Midpoint – old plastic brace (left) and new metal brace (right):

6) Install the new metal cowl extension bracket by first placing the bracket on the passenger strut tower bolts (by the battery). As the bracket slides down the bolts slide the bracket under the windshield cowl grill trim and down over the driver side strut tower bolts.

- the bracket is positioned with the flat part toward the fire wall and the two bends down toward the strut towers
- the slotted holes go on the driver side strut tower bolts

7) Install the black Ford Racing strut tower brace onto the strut bolts on the passenger and driver sides - Ford Racing logo toward the front of the car

8) Install the x4 black 13mm bolts into the original holes where they were removed from the passenger side plastic cowl bracket

- x2 bolts in engine bay & x2 bolts tucked under the plastic windshield cowl grill
- all x4 bolts tightened to 26ft/lb (be careful not to over-tighten)

9) Install the new x4 15mm nuts on to the strut tower brace bolts

- torque nuts to 41 ft/lb (be careful not to over-tighten these nuts – 41ft/lb
is about a 1/8 to 1/4 turn past tight)

10) Reinstall the positive battery cable back on to the positive terminal of the battery

- press the brown cable tie holder back on to the top of the passenger strut tower bolt

11) Reinstall the x6 black fasteners holding
down the plastic windshield cowl cover (see step #4)

12) Reinstall the battery cover and x3 black plastic fasteners (see step #1)
