Then you need to upgrade to the Ford Racing T-5 Super Heavy Duty 5-Speed Manual Transmission. This T-5 transmission is a heavy duty replacement for the stock T-5 and has a torque capacity of 300 lbs./ft. making it perfect for street and strip applications.

Built Ford Tough. The Ford Racing T-5 Super Heavy Duty 5-Speed Transmission features improved synchronizers and bearings, double moly 2nd speed, 3rd speed and counter-shaft cluster gears and carbon fiber 3-4 blocker rings. It comes equipped with a 10 spline input shaft, a 28 spline output shaft, 7 tooth speedometer drive gear, cobra style pocket bearing, steel input bearing retainer and is designed to use Mercon fluid or Dextron 3.

Gear Ratios. 1st 2.95; 2nd 1.94; 3rd 1.34; 4th 1.00; 5th 0.63

Application. This Ford Racing Super Heavy Duty T-5 5-Speed Manual Transmission with Short throw shifter is designed to be a direct fit upgrade replacement in the 1979 to 1993 5.0L V8 Mustangs, including the LX 5.0, GT, and SVT Cobra models.
