1. Remove negative wire off of battery.
2. Remove the (5) Philips head screws from the steering column cover – (2) on left and (3) on right.
3. Move the steering wheel up to remove the bottom half of the column cover and move the steering wheel down to help remove the top half.
4. The ignition starter switch is located in front of the ignition key switch on the right side of the column.
5. Using a flat screwdriver, remove the wire connector – there are (2) clips on each end.
6. Using pliers or vise grip, unscrew the (2) break off bolts.
7. Use this time to look over all wires to make sure no wires have been cut or pinched. The single wire that hangs under the ignition switch is the door dinger, which may become lose.
8. Place the new switch in place, making sure it sets all the way in.
9. Use new break off bolts to attach switch. NOTE: Go to a hardware store and bring the old bolts in to match threads and size. (6mm X 10 was stock on my car) – break off bolts or torque bolts will work.
10. Reattach the wire harness to the new switch.
11. Reattach the negative wire on the battery and start the car to make sure everything is working.
12. After verification the switch is working, screw the steering column cover back on.
13. Put the top cover on first by tilting the steering wheel down.
14. Tilt the steering wheel up and put the bottom half of the steering column cover on and put the (5) screws back in.
