This thermostat replaces the factory 195-degree thermostat to allow the engine to operate at its peak efficiency no matter what the driving conditions. The lower activation temperature of this thermostat allows the coolant to flow through the engine sooner. This mechanism maintains proper engine operating temperatures and prevents heat damage to the engine.
