      Description

      Engineered to Outperform Stock Distributors. MSD distributor cap and rotor are responsible for transmitting the voltage from the ignition coils to the engine's cylinders to ignite the fuel-air mixture within and drive the engine. The coil is directly connected to the rotor, which spins inside of the uniquely designed distributor cap. When the tip of the rotor passes over a contact on the cylinder, a high-voltage pulse is transmitted from the coil to that cylinder via the rotor.

      Durable Construction. MSD distributor caps and rotors are made with brass inserts that have a precision-molded, low-friction NitroCarbon® surface. This helps to ensure good contact and maximum performance. The rotor is also balanced to prevent vibration and ensure smooth, consistent operation. Additionally, a Rynite molder plastic cap ensures plenty of trouble-free years from your new MSD distributor cap.

      Easy Install. The MSD distributor cap and rotor kit are designed to be a direct replacement for your Mustang's engine. No modifications are required for installation. Simply remove the old parts and replace them with the new MSD cap and rotor kit. Make sure to install everything exactly how you removed it. Any small changes may result in needing to re-time the engine.

      Quality Brass Terminals. MSD distributor cap and rotor kit also include high-quality terminals. The brass inserts are crimped to a heavy-gauge wire that is then soldered to the coil. This ensures a good, solid connection that will provide maximum performance and eliminate any chance of voltage loss.

      Application. The MSD distributor cap and rotor kit is the perfect replacement for your classic Mustang engine. It is compatible with V8 engines found in the 1979-1983 Ford Mustang.

      Warranty. American Muscle offers a one-year warranty on MSD distributor cap and rotor kits. If you have any problems with the MSD distributor cap or rotor within one year of purchase, we will replace it free of charge.
