1. If needed, remove the factory side scoop by carefully inserting a plastic trip removal tool and prying the retaining clips off. Start at the rear of the scoop, finishing with the front edge.
2. Using the supplied alcohol pad, thoroughly wipe area where the honeycomb insert will be applied
3. Peel the backing from the 3M adhesive tape on the insert and place it inside the opening of the scoop. Place the bottom of the insert first working your way to then top. Once properly aligned press down firmly to fully seat the adhesive tape.
4. Install the 6 supplied retaining clips vertically in the clip retainers. Be sure to install clips exactly as shown above. Before installing side scoops on vehicle it is a good idea to thoroughly clean the area where the original side scoops were attached.
5. This step is optional. If you want to ensure maximum hold a piece of 3M tape can be added to inner side of scoop, the one facing the car door. Adding it is optional and not required for scoops to stay in place.
6. Install the new side scoop by locating the forward retaining clips in the body holes as shown, followed by the rear. Once all clips are loosely installed in the body holes, press down firmly to fully set the clips in the body.
7. Be sure to look before pressing down as misaligned clip can break very easily. If you have a convertible you can lower windows and see down through back side to find out if clips are aligned well.
8. If for whatever reason clips are not going in you can use a screw driver to bring up the side panel by placing screw driver through the hole, prying it up and applying a bit of pressure to bring the hole in the body panel forward so that the retaining clip can reach the hole and snap into place.
9. Repeat steps 1 to 7 for opposite side scoop to complete instillation. If for any reason you ever need to remove the scoops, repeat step 1 using the plastic removal tool to release plastic retaining clips.
