1. First clean the quarter window glass to remove any dirt, grime or streaks.
2. Second I made some spacers to place on the fender edge to make sure the alignment and spacing is correct and straight. I used 2 one inch square pieces of cardboard that I cut from the box that I received the parts in and taped them together to make 2separate ¼ inch spacers.
3. I then taped them to the fender edge one at the front end of the window and the other at the back edge of the window.
4. Then measure 1 inch from the edge of the window on top and bottom and place a piece of tape along the edge so it is even. I found that the 1 inch from the edge followed the roof line best.
5. Once both the spacers and the leading edge are determined test fit the louver in place to assure proper fit.
6. You are now ready to prep the louver for installation. Place the louver face down on a soft towel to be sure not to scratch the paint finish. Layout the louver and the 3M doubled sided automotive bonding tape strips for correct length and placement. Clean off the edges to remove any dust or waxy residue and make sure the backside of the louvers are clean and smooth. Use the proper length strips and apply to the outside edge of the louvers.
7. Peel off the leading edge of the protective coating to get ready to place it in position.
8. Now place the lower edge of the louver on to the spacers on the fender and line it up with the vertical tape edge you placed 1 inch from the window, tip up and press it in to place. Press around all the edges to insure the tape is firmly attached and in contact all the way around.
9. Remove the spacers and tape to reuse for installation on the other side.
10. Then repeat the same installation process above for the other side.
11. Then stand back to admire your work and the new louvers that perfectly match your Mustang!
