How to Install Raxiom Headlight LED Conversion Bulb Kit - 9007 on your Mustang

Installation

1. Gather tools, Raxiom LED Headlight Kit and open your car’s hood and support the hood with the factory prop rod or by other means.

2. Locate the two pins that hold the headlights in place. Pull the pins straight up to remove them and free the headlight assembly. 

3. Carefully start to remove the headlight assembly by pulling straight to the front of the car. Be careful not to pull too hard because there may not be much slack in the headlight and parking light wiring harness.

4. Once you have pulled the head light assembly away from the car and exposed the wiring harnesses, detach the headlight wiring harness by pulling it straight back from the headlight housing. Note: Using a small flat head screwdriver may help release the retaining clip.

5. Next, position the headlight housing so that you can disconnect the parking light wiring harness. There is a clip on each side that you can lift up on and disconnect the harness. The clips can become very brittle so be careful not to break them.

6. Once both wiring harnesses are removed you can remove the headlight housing from the car. Place the headlight on a towel or blanket to protect the lens from getting scratched.

7. With the headlight flipped lens down, remove the black ring that holds the stock headlight bulb in place by twisting the ring counter-clockwise.

8. Remove the stock headlight bulb by firmly pulling straight out of the housing. Once removed set aside as it will not be reused.

9. Insert the new Raxiom LED headlight into the housing, making sure it is secure.

10. Take the wire from the back of the bulb and attach it to the harness wire. Make sure to line the wires up correctly and tighten the screw cap for a good connection.

11. Attach the blue LED harness to the black stock harness.

12. Secure the extra wire with zip ties and/or tape to protect it.

13. Plug the parking light harness back to the parking light bulb.

14. Carefully reinstall the headlight and replace the retaining pins

15. Repeat steps for passenger side headlight.

16. Enjoy your new Raxiom LED Headlights! Note: Final picture is paired with Raxiom LED Switchback Turn Signal Conversion Kit.
