Headlight Removal:
1. Locate the 2 retention clips on the headlight assembly.
2. Pull the clips straight up to remove. Put the clips in a safe place. They will be re-used to install the new headlight.
3. Pull the headlight assembly straight out. Locate the wiring and remove from the headlight assembly. The wiring clips have a retention feature that will probably break off. This is not an issue once the new headlights are installed. Remove the yellow bulb from the headlight assembly by gently twisting and pulling out of the assembly. This bulb will be re-used on the new headlights.
1. Insert the yellow bulb into the new headlight assembly.
2. Note the 2 brass alignment pins. These pins will align with holes in the body of the mustang to align the headlight.
3. Reattach the wiring for the yellow light first.
4. Then reattach the wiring for the main headlight.
5. Gently slide the headlight back into position. This may take some manipulation to get the brass alignment pins to seat. Once the brass alignment pins are seated in the matching holes on the mustang body. Gently push the headlight into position and replace the first retention clip.
6. While maintaining slight pressure on the face of the headlight, install the second retention clip.
7. The driver's side headlight is now installed. Repeat this procedure for the passenger side.
8. The headlights are now installed.
