1. Pull the knob out so the headlights are on, and locate the opening to press the tab in order to pop the knob off. This may be difficult but be careful not to snap anything.
2. The next step is to remove the two screws above the gauge cluster.
3. Once the screws are removed, carefully remove the plastic surrounding the cluster. Pull from the bottom first and when you feel it come free, wiggle it out from behind the steering wheel. Adjusting the steering wheel might help.
4. Next, use a 9/32 socket to remove the two bolts inside the dash.
5. Press the button on the side of the silver box to eject the rod.
6. Put your replacement rod inside the box and it will lock in. Make sure you remove the knob or else the dash won’t be able to fit back on.
7. Replace the two bolts inside the dash.
8. Replace the two screws above the gauge cluster.
9. Put your new knob on the rod and you’re done.
