How to Install a Roush Axle-Back Exhaust on your 2015-2016 EcoBoost, V6 Mustang

Installation Time

1 hours

Tools Required
  • Jack and jack stands, lifts or ramps
  • 3/8" Drive Ratchet with 3" Extension
  • 15mm Socket
  • Exhaust cutter or Sawzall
  • Black Marker

Tools:

STEP 1:

Elevate the rear of your vehicle to expose the stock mufflers using your desired method. In this case I chose to use a set of vehicle ramps and wheel chocks for added safety.

STEP 2

Once under the vehicle, follow the curve of the exhaust from the rear of the stock muffler. With your marker, mark your cut roughly right after the first curve ends and makes way to the straight portion on the stock exhaust.

STEP 3:

Now using either your Sawzall or exhaust cutter begin to make your cut of the stock piping.

STEP 4:

After completing the cut simply slide the stock muffler out of the rear exhaust hanger. It is located right behind the rear bumper, above the exhaust tips.

STEP 5:

Take one of the provided clamps and place it onto the newly cut pipe.

STEP 6:

Now insert the roush muffler into the rear exhaust hanger that was used previously. Then slide the new muffler onto the cut stock exhaust. Using your 3/8 ratchet and 15mm socket, tighten down the clamp until you can only make a 1/4 turn. Or torque the bolts to 30Nm.

STEP 7:

Once you achieve your desired exhaust alignment, retro fit the newly installed Roush muffler with the provided tips and clamps. Tighten to 30Nm.

STEP 8:

Repeat all steps on the opposite side to complete the installation. Enjoy your new 2015 Roush Axle back Exhaust. :)
