How to Install RTR Rear Upper Control Arm Mount (11-14 All) on your Ford Mustang

  • 21 mm Wrench/Socket
  • 24 mm Wrench/Socket
  • 18 mm Wrench/Socket
  • Extension
  • Thread Glue
  • Floor Jack
  • Jack Stands
  • Hammer with Rubber Head
  • Small Punch

1. Carefully raise the rear of the car by placing the floor jack at the rear lift location. Use jack stands to protect the car.


2. Use 18 mm socket/wrench and unscrew the differential bushing nut. Remember to  not take out the screw.


3. Use the floor jack and lift up the differential.


4. Remove the differential bushing screw, in case of problems use a hammer and small punch. Avoid hitting the thread of the screw.


5. Unscrew the upper control mount screw using 21 mm socket/wrench and extension.


6. Time to take out the back seats. Underneath of each side are the push pins.


7. Unscrew the upper control arm mount screw number 3 located underneath the back seat using 24 mm socket/wrench.


8. After unscrewing the last bolt the upper control arm mount is free and you can take it out.

9. Unscrew the bolt that combines upper control arm with upper control mount using 27 mm socket/wrench and then install your new RTR parts.


10. Mount the RTR upper arm mount on the Mustang starting with 21 mm socket/wrench and stock bolt.


11. Tighten the upper control mount bolt located underneath the back seat using 24 mm socket/wrench and stock bolt.


12. Tighten the upper control arm to differential bushing using 18 mm socket/wrench and stock bolt and nut.


13. Take out the floor jack that you used to lift up the differential.
