1. Remove factory shift knob and shift bezel by gently prying up on the sides. If your vehicle is equipped with a lighter and/or traction control, disconnect the harnesses from the bezel before completely removing it from the vehicle.
2. Loosen the factory shift boot by removing the (4) 8mm nuts that hold it to the console.
3. Lift up on the boot to expose the (4) 13mm nuts that hold the factory shifter to the transmission and remove them.
4. Remove the whole shifter assembly and boot from the vehicle. Remove the (2) 10mm bolts that hold the factory shifter handle to the base and remove the handle. This will allow you to remove the rubber boot.
5. Using an allen key, remove the handle from your new shifter and slide the rubber boot over top of it as shown. Re-install the allen head bolts and tighten.
6. Scrape off any left over RTV left on the shifter housing of the transmission and install a new gasket or a thin bead of black RTV silicone.***If you have a TR-3650 transmission, make sure to transfer the plastic bushings from the end of the shifter to your new shifter, or your transmission will not operate properly***
7. Place your new shifter assembly on top of the transmission and use the supplied 13mm bolts to secure it to the transmission. Adjust your shifter using the stop nuts and bolts so that the transmission goes freely and completely into all gears. Leave about ¼” between the stop bolt and the shifter when the shifter is fully engaged in each gear. The shifter should not hit the bolts during normal operation. They are there to prevent transmission damage under hard shifting.
8. Use the factory 8mm bolts to secure the shift boot to the console.
9. Re-install the factory shift bezel by pushing down on the clip and plug in any electrical harnesses that were disconnected in Step 1. Re-install your shift knob to complete the installation.
