1. Remove the negative battery terminal from the battery and secure it out of the way, ensuring that it doesn’t accidently make contact with the negative terminal.
2. Loosen the serpentine belt tensioner and remove the belt from the alternator pulley.
3. Remove the alternator’s positive wire, and unclip the electrical connection.
4. Remove the bolts securing the alternator to the alternator bracket.
5. Remove the alternator from the vehicle. **Note: In some cases it may be necessary to loosen/remove components in order to remove the alternator from the vehicle.
6. Once the alternator is removed from the vehicle, measure the pulley diameter to ensure it matches the replacement alternator’s pulley. If it does not, swap the pulleys.
7. Reinstall in reverse order, once installed, confirm the vehicle is charging using a multi-meter or your vehicles gauge.
