How To Install An SR Performance Alternator On Your 1987-1993 5.0L, 1994-1995 GT or 94-00 V6 Mustang

INSTALLED ON: 1994 Ford Mustang GT 

STEP 1: Unplug the negative side of the battery. Release tension on the belt by inserting the end of a 3/8” socket wrench into the square on the belt tensioner and pulling it counterclockwise; then remove the 15 mm bolt on the bottom of the alternator. 

STEP 2: Remove the upper 13mm bolt from the alternator. 

STEP 3: Remove the 10mm nut from the positive wire on the alternator. 

STEP 4: Remove the (2) wire harnesses from the top of the alternator. Remove the 10mm bracket screw. 

STEP 5: If upgrading wiring, unscrew the 13mm nut from the fuse box and install new wire between fuse box and alternator. Re-install all parts and check for functionality.
