How to Install SR Performance Polished Strut Tower Brace on your Mustang

Contents:

(1) Strut Brace

(4) M10x1.5 Nuts

(4) M10x1.25 Nuts

(8) M10 Washers

(6) Spacers

Step 1:  Begin by removing the battery cover trim panel. and disconnecting the positive battery cable. Remove the clip holding the battery cable to the strut tower. 


Step 2:  Remove the (2) M10x1.25 nuts from the upper strut  mount on both sides. 

**Note: There are M10x1.25 and M10x1.5 Nuts it is very important that the newly supplied nuts are installed on the correct studs otherwise you will cross thread the stud. 


Step 3:  Next, remove the (2) M10x1.5 Bolts from the painter chassis brace studs on both sides. Performance Pack cars will have this brace on both sides. Non-Performance Pack cars will only have this brac on the passenger side. 

**Note: There are M10x1.25 and M10x1.5 Nuts it is very important that the newly supplied nuts are installed on the correct studs otherwise you will croF. thread the stud. 


Step 4:  Place the supplied spacers on any studs that do not already have a black chassis brace. The picture below shows what the chassis brace looks like. 

Non-Performance Pack cars will get (6) spacers tot; (2) on the passenger side and (4) on the driver side

Performance Pack cars will get (4) spacers total. (2 on each side. 


Step 5:  Once the spacers are installed, place the strut bar over the appropriate studs. Install the M10x1.25 nuts on the corresponding studs. Then install the M10x1.5 nuts the on the corresponding (painted) studs. Torque all nuts to 35fUlbs. 

Step 6:  Reinstall the clip that holds the battery cable to the strut mount. Then reinstall the battery cable to the battery. Place the battery cover trim panel in place and reinstall the fasteners.
