Assembly & Installation
1. Install and tighten the barbed hose fittings to the cap. The fittings can be used in any desired combination.
2. Lubricate the provided O-ring with a small amount of general purpose grease. Install the O-ring into the small undercut above the threads of the cap.
3. Thread the filter retainer and the filter to bottom of the cap.
Note: Do NOT over tighten the filter retainer or the filter itself will crush and be ruined!!!
Note: Depending on where you mount the kit on the engine, the engine crankcase air must flow
1. From the valve cover into the bowl itself
2. Out of the bowl, through the filter
3. Into the intake manifold, or intake tube Therefore the filter and retainer will need to be installed in the appropriate threaded hole to ensure proper airflow.
4. Thread the cap and bowl together. Ensure the O-ring does not get pinched and makes a tight seal between the cap and bowl.
5. Install the separator kit on the engine by either splicing it into the factory PCV lines, or by running ½ inch rubber fuel lines from the valve cover to the intake manifold or intake tube.
6. Use two of the provided clamps to seal the PCV hoses to the barbed fittings. The compression clamps will need a pair of crimping pliers (or similar tool) to crimp them tight. There are two extra clamps in case of a mistake, or if you want to mount the separator somewhere else on the engine later.
For the right PCV hose; remove a three inch section of the factory PCV hose and splice in the oil separator as seen below.
For the left PCV hose; remove a three inch section of the factory PCV hose and splice in the oil separator as seen below.
Follow the instructions above. Use the provided PCV hose and remove a 2-1/2 inch section when installing the kit on a base 5.0L intake manifold.
For the Boss intake manifold remove a three inch section of the factory PCV hose and splice in the oil separator as seen below.
