Installation Instructions:
1. Remove the screws holding the Tilt Cover in place on either side of the cover. After removing the two screws, the cover will drop down. Screw hole locations indicated by the blue arrows Picture 2.
2. Remove the 3 Phillips screws located in the lower steering column cover as indicated by the blue arrows in Picture 3. The screws are long and connect into the top steering column cover.
3. Gently pull down on the front of the lower cover to release the snap retention in the plastic. The cover an be removed from the steering column by tiling it down, easing if off the key release then moving it toward the front of the car.
4. Gently remove the top steering cover expose the turn signal by lifting the front up and easing the plastic around the ignition/starter switch. This may take some small gentle movements as it’s moved. Once released move it away from the steering wheel to remove the rear from under the rear column covers.
5. The original turn signal is exposed, remove the 2 screws holding the turn signal onto the steering column.
6. The turn signal can be easily removed from the column so that the three cable harness connectors can be removed. The blue arrow indicates one of the harness clips. There are two for each of the 3 cable connectors. Be careful as the plastic may be brittle and old and can easily break. Gently work each back lifting just enough to clear the retaining feature until the connector releases.
7. Connect three connectors to the new turn signal. Each is shaped to allow only 1 connection position.
8. Install turn signal back into the location and attach the two screws using the Phillips screwdriver. Tighten hand tight.
9. Check functionality of the turn signal, wipers, headlights low and bright beam to make sure the new part functions properly.
10. Prior to installing top and bottom steering column cover, view the forward snap feature that keeps the two parts together on the front. This feature must be aligned and gently snapped together during reassembly.
11. Install the top cover tiling the cover into the cover just behind the steering wheel and working around the ignition switch.
12. Install the bottom cover working into the cover just behind the steering wheel and over the key release.
13. Gently snap the retention feature together that was shown in Step 9.
14. Install the 3 screws removed from the steering column covers. Refer to Step 2 for screw locations.
15. Install the tilt cover. There are two tabs that will fit into the dash panel otherwise it will not fit flush. Install the screws
16. Turn signal fully installed
