However, the supercharger drive belt may slip across the drive pulleys at high power levels due to a lack of grip, resulting in slower pulley/impeller rotation, lower boost, and reduced power. To counteract power-robbing belt slip, consider upgrading your Charger’s supercharger drive belt system to a 10-rib system, vastly improving belt grip compared to the 4 or 6-rib belts included with your Vortech supercharger system. Alter Your Mustang’s Boost Curve. One of the simplest and most effective means of changing your Vortech supercharged Charger’s boost curve is replacing the supercharger drive pulley with a different diameter. With a large diameter pulley, the drive belt system has more torque to rotate the impeller but turns the impeller slower, reducing boost. The drive belt system has less rotational torque but spins the impeller faster for quick, low-end power with a small diameter pulley.
