1. Remove the Phillips screws at the top and bottom of the switch bezel and set them aside. Lift assembly up, and out, from the top.
The switch assembly is held to the back of the switch bezel by two Phillips screws. Remove them and set them aside.
The switch assembly is simply lifted away from the bezel
4. The power lock switch and window switches are simply pulled off the connector with your fingers. You will probably have to wiggle the switch bases a little bit to get them to come loose.
1. With your fingers, simply plug the new switch into the connector plate. A little pressure will be required, but it is a perfect fit.
The door lock switch has a red tab at its upper left that corresponds with an opening in the switch plate. The window switch has a rectangular tab at its bottom that corresponds with an opening in the switch plate.
2. Use the original Phillips screws to reattach the connector plate to the switch bezel. The screw receptacles on the new parts are not threaded, so the screws will create the threads as they are fastened down.
3. Place the reassembled switch bezel back into the opening in the door panel. (No force is necessary, it should simply slip in.)
(Tip: The black finish had been worn off the original bezel screws in my Mustang. I took the original screw to my friendly local Ford dealer. Apparently these screws have been used for many years and are an in-stock item. The new screw restores the original factory finish look.)
