Aftermarket TPMS Sensor Kits and Accessories

Aftermarket TPMS Sensor Kits and Accessories

What Is a TPMS Sensor Kit?

A TPMS sensor kit refers to a kit for your tire pressure monitoring system. This system is responsible for keeping an eye on your tire pressure to make sure it's at the right level. On your dashboard, this appears as a symbol that looks sort of like a horseshoe with grooves at the bottom and an exclamation point. While it looks like a horseshoe, it's meant to represent a flat tire, we just wanted to clear that up in case you have no idea what you’re looking at.

Without a TPMS sensor, it's hard to tell what your tire pressure is without one of those little metal tools you stick into the car wheel – if you've ever tried doing that in the winter your hands will feel frostbitten by the third wheel. For this reason, having a functional TPMS system is essential for optional performance without having to put in any guesswork or waste a half-hour of your day checking each tire.

While TPMS sensor kits are important for daily driving, they're also useful for muscle cars that are hitting the track. Some drag racing setups require specific tire pressure ratings to ensure that you have traction. This applies to both drag racing and circuit racing situations, so don't skip out on your TPMS system and act fast to replace it if parts are failing.

TPMS Replacement Options

Has your TPMS system failed? If so, you may need a new sensor or an entire new system depending on the extent of the damage. You'll also need a TPMS sensor synching tool to ensure that your new sensors are working together. Unfortunately, if one sensor fails the entire system can become useless in a hurry.

One of the best options we recommend is going with a valve stem-mount option that you can easily change between rims or install on a new set of wheels and tires. Some TPMS kits also offer mounting and balancing kits along with TPMS sync tools to ensure that you have everything you need right out of the box.

Switching to this type of TPMS system is also a great idea if you plan on grabbing a set of AMR wheels and NITTO Tires because your stock sensors will be all out of whack. For this reason, it's a great way to get rid of an annoying TPMS light that doesn't leave your dashboard, and we know how panic-inducing any dashboard light can be in a muscle car. Whether you need a simple TPMS system rebuilt kit to help you re-sync your TPMS, or you want to install a TPMS kit on a classic muscle car, we have everything you need to get the job done right.
